Recommendation for Key Derivation Using Pseudorandom Functions: Draft SP 800-108 Revision 1 Available for Comment

Draft Special Publication (SP) 800-108 Revision 1, Recommendation for Key Derivation Using Pseudorandom Functions, is now available for public comment. The document specifies families of key derivation functions for deriving additional keys from existing cryptographic keys.

This revision specifies key derivation functions using Keccak-based message authentication codes (KMAC) in addition to key derivation functions using keyed-hash message authentication codes (HMAC) and cipher-based message authentication codes (CMAC).

A public comment period for this document ends on January 18, 2022. See the publication details for a copy of the draft and instructions for submitting comments.
