Developing Role-Based Training for System Administrators and Managers
Leaders:          Jeff Dektor, Susan Hansche, Patricia Harris

Participants in this workshop will learn how to develop a training program that addresses the knowledge, skills, and abilities required of a systems administrator or manager responsible for maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information resources. The workshop will utilize generic guidance for IT security, however, attendees should be familiar with NIST or other federal guidance regarding IT security and the corresponding policies and procedures that have been developed by their agencies. Where specific policies and procedures have not been issued the attendee should assess, prior to the workshop, the needs of their agency as it concerns the responsibilities of system administrators and managers.
