Communications Security Establishment

The Communications Security Establishment (CSE) is Canada's national cryptologic authority. CSE is recognized as the Government of Canada's technical authority for information assurance and a provider of leading-edge IT security services. CSE provides technical advice, guidance and services to the Government to maintain the security of its electronic information and information infrastructures.

CSE helps to protect Canada's most valued electronic information assets and infrastructures by:
· providing IT security architecture and consulting services
· analyzing vulnerabilities in IT systems, networks and products and providing risk management advice and guidance
· supporting the development of federal IT security policies and standards
· approving cryptographic, computer and network security products and systems for government use

CSE's Information Technology Security (ITS) program currently provides leadership and support to key Government of Canada e-government initiatives, particularly in the areas of critical infrastructure protection, and cyber security.
