• The Advanced Encryption Standard Development Effort

As part of the ongoing evaluation of the Advanced Encryption Standard candidate algorithms, NIST performed randomness testing for each of the candidate algorithms that were submitted for consideration.

• The ANSI X9.82 Random Number Generation Standard

In June 1998, the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) X9F1 (Financial Services Industry) approved the creation of a standard addressing the needs for random number generation.

• The FIPS 140-2 Cryptographic Module Validation & Testing Program

In section 4.9.1, Power-Up Tests of the draft FIPS 140-2 document, several of the statistical tests that are prescribed were refined based on comments provided by Dr. Andrew Rukhin.
