May 15, 2000 - NSA's final report on hardware evaluations of the five finalists is now available.

May 11, 2000 - An electronic version of the AES3 Proceedings is now available.

April 28, 2000 - The AES3 feedback form summary has been updated to include all of the comments provided on the forms.

April 20, 2000 - Submitter statements that were distributed at AES3 are now available. Additionally, the comments from the AES3 feedback forms have been summarized (an HTML version should be available next week). Thirdly, the final agenda has been updated to include links to presentations - more will be added as they are received by NIST.

March 21-22, 2000 - Papers submitted for AES3 are now available, along with a preliminary agenda for AES3. The finalist algorithm submitters have provided NIST with updates to their original intellectual property statements.

February 18, 2000 - AES Finalist Source Code was made available on-line. [As of October 24, 2000, only Rijndael code remains available.]

January 19, 2000 - AES3 Paper Submissions: NIST and the AES3 Program Committee wish to thank all of the people who kindly submitted papers for the AES3 conference. Thirty (30) papers are currently being reviewed. All of these papers will be made available on this web site during approximately the third or fourth week of March.

December 14, 1999 - AES3 Program Committee information is now available.

December 8, 1999 - Beginning today, NIST will make available Round 2 public comments received-to-date. This shall be updated every other Wednesday for the remainder of Round 2.

November 18, 1999 - A report on NIST's Round 1 efficiency testing of Java implementations is now available.

November 1, 1999 - NIST has developed a short white paper [PDF] to promote and focus the discussion of important Round 2 issues.

October 13, 1999 - A report on NIST's Round 1 efficiency testing of ANSI C implementations is now available.

September 29, 1999 - NIST's Round 1 randomness testing report is now available.

September 22, 1999 - A call for papers for the Third AES Candidate Conference (AES3) is now available.

September 15, 1999 - A Federal Register announcement gives suggestions for Round 2 public comment topics.
